Australian Survivor Season 04 Episode 02 Descriprion
After Asaga’s first Tribal Council, Samantha is upset that her plan was not followed and wants to find out who cast the rogue votes. While Luke was not able to get Kent voted out, he is still thrilled that he forced a tie and made Samantha paranoid. Luke states that his goal is to constantly ruffle feathers and keep people on their toes and he hopes to use this against Samantha to get her voted out next. On Asaga, there appears to be a tight alliance between Henry, Jacqui, Mark, Sarah, and Samantha while another alliance forms between Ben, Luke, Michelle, and Odette.
On Samatau, AK has found himself on the bottom of the tribe after everyone discovered how much he was strategizing. AK tries to pretend he has an idol. AK grabs a stone that is shaped like a chicken and tells Jarrad that he found the idol on the barge at the start of the game in the chicken coop and that he must play it at the first Tribal Council. Word spreads around camp and people wonder if AK is telling the truth. Meanwhile, Adam establishes an alliance with Kate, Tara, Tarzan, Tessa, and Ziggy, intending on taking out AK at Samatau’s first Tribal Council.
Reward challenge: One member from each tribe will go down a slippery course, and compete for a ball. First person to get the ball into their goal square, scores a point. First tribe to seven points wins. The winning tribe wins fishing gear and an outrigger canoe.
Samatau won, during the Reward Challenge, AK tells Henry that he is on the bottom of Samatau and will flip if he makes it to a tribe swap or merge. Back at camp, both Adam and AK spot a Hidden Immunity Idol clue in the fishing gear the tribe won, but Adam is able to grab the clue first. While the tribe is building their shelter, Adam goes off to search for the idol to keep it away from AK, but AK follows him. Determined to keep the idol from AK, Adam returns to the beach and tries to get Kate, Tara, Tessa, and Ziggy to help him search. The others tell Adam that they want to finish the shelter first. Adam gets confrontational, telling the women that if they want to be in this alliance they need to help him get the idol. Adam’s tone upsets Tara, who believes Adam is being selfish and only looking out for himself. Eventually, everyone in camp learns about the clue and head out to find the idol. While searching, Locky finds an area that’s been dug up and a string on the ground. Adam reveals he dug around that area, but states that he didn’t find the idol. Locky has a hard time believing Adam’s story and believes Adam found the idol. Adam gets upset and dares the tribe to vote him off the island if they think he has the idol. Everyone is stunned by Adam’s behavior and many believe he has found the idol. Adam realizes the terrible position he has put himself in because people believe he has the idol.
Over at Asaga, Luke starts to work on a spy shack so he can spy on people in the woods. Later, Henry and Jacqui go to the water well and discover a Hidden Immunity Idol clue hidden beneath the well lid. The two go off to search and Henry finds the idol. Henry believes that he and Jacqui have become a power couple in the game and he hopes to make some big moves.
Immunity challenge: Nine runners from each tribe will run through a mud pit, break a bamboo tunnel, and finally a brick wall. After busting through the brick wall, one person, who can be swapped out, will have to hammer a set of pegs, which will allow them to open a drawer containing club hammers. The remaining two tribe members will use the war clubs to break six tiles. First tribe to break all of their tiles wins.
Asaga won immunity. At camp, the tribe is considering voting out either Adam, AK, or Anneliese. Anneliese did not do well in the challenge and worries the tribe considers her weak. Meanwhile, AK hopes to paint the target on Adam to save himself. AK tells Anneliese that Adam approached him to see if he would vote Anneliese out of the game. Anneliese believes AK is telling the truth and approaches her alliance of Aimee, Jarrad, Locky, and Peter and persuades them to split the vote between Adam and Kate instead of voting out AK. As a backup plan, AK also shows his fake chicken idol to everyone to convince them he does have an idol. However, nobody believes the idol is real and everyone considers sticking with the original plan to vote out AK because he continues to prove himself untrustworthy.
Adam believes that he will have the numbers to vote out Anneliese tonight as long as nobody flips, but is concerned that Tara might not trust him anymore after his handling of the idol situation. Adam does apologize to Tara about the way he acted. Tara recognizes that she is a swing vote tonight as she can either stay loyal to Adam or join the other side and get rid of him. Before Tribal Council, AK attempts to talk to Jarrad once more about the vote, but Jarrad tells AK he doesn’t know if he can trust him and believes that AK ruined that when he told the lie about the chicken idol. AK believes that and Jarrad can go far in the game, but knows that he’s put himself in a bad position with all of his strategic game play.
At Tribal Council, both Adam and AK are called out by the tribe for being the two most aggressive players on the tribe. Both Adam and AK make pleas to their tribe. AK admits that he made a mistake in believing that everyone else would be playing the game as hard as him from the start and he should have realized that and calmed down. Adam states that he has been honest with everyone except AK, with Tarzan coming to Adam’s defense noting that Adam shared the idol clue with everyone when he could have kept it for himself. Adam swears he did not find the idol and reminds everyone that the person causing the chaos and disharmony in the tribe is AK.
Before the votes are read, AK stands up and reveals that he did indeed find the real idol and plays it on Jarrad. When the votes are read, Tara is revealed to have joined the other alliance’s plan in splitting the votes between Adam and Kate. Kate voted for AK; Adam, Tarzan, Tessa, and Ziggy voted for Anneliese; Anneliese and Tara voted for Kate; and Aimee, AK, Jarrad, Locky, and Peter voted for Adam. With five votes, Adam becomes the second person voted out of Australian Survivor.

Australian Survivor Show Descriprion
Australian Survivor is an Australian reality game show based on the international Survivor format. Following the premise of other versions of the Survivor format, the show features a group of contestants, referred to as “castaways” as they are marooned in an isolated location. The castaways must provide food, water, fire, and shelter for themselves. The contestants compete in various challenges for rewards and immunity from elimination. The contestants are progressively eliminated from the game as they are voted off the island by their fellow castaways. The final castaway remaining is awarded the title of “Sole Survivor” and the grand prize of A$500,000.
The series first aired in 2002 on the Nine Network, who as of 2020, also hold the first-run Australian broadcast rights to the flagship American edition of Survivor. In 2006, a celebrity edition aired on the Seven Network. Both iterations of the series only lasted one season due to low ratings.
In November 2015, the Network Ten announced at its network upfronts that it would be reviving the series in 2016. The series commenced airing on 21 August 2016. Unlike its predecessors, the series was renewed by Network Ten for another season for 2017, and has continued to be successful since. An All-Star edition featuring former contestants aired in early 2020. A second 2020 edition set to feature new civilian players was expected for later in 2020, but production on that season was postponed due to issued travel restrictions as well as safety concerns resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. This season is now set to be produced in mid-2021, in an Outback location near the town of Cloncurry, Queensland and is set to air in late 2021.
Australian Survivor Show Format
The show follows the same general format as the other editions of Survivor. To begin, the players are split into two or three tribes, are taken to a remote isolated location and are forced to live off the land with meagre supplies for a period of several weeks. Frequent physical and mental challenges are used to pit the tribes against each other for rewards, such as food or luxuries, or for immunity, forcing the other tribe to attend Tribal Council, where they must vote one of their tribemates out of the game by secret ballot.
About halfway through the game, the tribes are merged into a single tribe, and challenges are on an individual basis; winning immunity prevents that player from being voted out. Most players that are voted out during this stage become members of the Tribal Council Jury. When only two players remain, the Final Tribal Council is held. The finalists pleads their case to the Jury as to why they should win the game. The jurors then have the opportunity to interrogate the finalists before casting their vote for which finalist should be awarded the title of Sole Survivor and win the grand prize of A$500,000 (or a A$100,000 charity prize in the celebrity season).
Like other editions of the show, the Australian edition has introduced numerous modifications, or twists, on the core rules to prevent players from over-relying on strategies that succeeded in prior seasons or other editions of the show. These changes have included tribe switches, players being exiled from their tribe for a short period of time, hidden immunity idols that players can use to save themselves or another player at Tribal Council from being voted off, voting powers which can be used to influence the result at Tribal Council and players being given a chance to return following their elimination.
Survivor in Australia
The first Australian version of the Survivor format was filmed in late 2001, and aired in 2002 on the Nine Network. The program was a contractual obligation if the network were to be allowed to continue to broadcast American Survivor. The program was criticised for poor casting and lower production value than the popular American edition and it was not renewed due to low ratings. The Nine Network still hold the first-run rights to American Survivor and have continued to broadcast the American edition of the program ever since. Since 2013, recent seasons air on Nine’s secondary channel; 9Go! and streamed on 9Now within hours of the original American airing.
In 2006, the Seven Network found a loophole in the contract between the Nine Network and Castaway Television, which allowed them to produce a celebrity version of the series, due to a celebrity format being viewed as different from the original format. The Seven Network did not renew the series.
In November 2015, Network Ten revealed at its upfront event that it would air a new season featuring regular contestants to air in the last quarter of 2016. This new season gives Australian Survivor the distinction of being one of the few Australian programs to have aired across all three major commercial television networks in Australia. Australian Survivor has continued to air yearly, concluding its most recent season in March 2020.
Following Network Ten’s acquisition by CBS (the United States broadcaster of the format) in 2017, starting in December 2018, CBS made the complete American Survivor series available on their paid Australian streaming platform, Paramount+ (known as 10 All Access until 2021). The broadcasts include the previously unaired to Australia Survivor US: Marquesas, which Nine did not air due to its commitment in airing their 2002 version of Australian Survivor. A select few seasons are also uploaded to 10’s free streaming site, 10 Play. Each US season is uploaded some time after the season has aired on Nine Network, when the rights to that season revert to CBS under their agreement. Additionally, as of September 2020, both seasons of Survivor NZ and the Philippines & Island of Secrets editions of Survivor South Africa were also uploaded on 10 Play. In 2021, 10 Play offered week-to-week streaming via 10 play of the Immunity Island edition of the South African series as it aired in South Africa.
