BattleBots Season 09

BattleBots Season 9 is the ninth season of the American competitive television series that features 68 heavyweight robots fighting in a single-elimination tournament for the title of BattleBots World Champion. The season premiered on June 7, 2019 on Discovery Channel and consisted of 16 episodes. The season was hosted by Chris Rose and Kenny Florian, with Jenny Taft as the pit reporter and Faruq Tauheed as the arena announcer. The judges were Derek Young, Lisa Winter, and Jason Bardis.

The season featured robots from nine countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, United Kingdom and the United States. Some of the notable robots that competed in the season were Bite Force, Bronco, Tombstone, Minotaur, Witch Doctor, Whiplash, and SawBlaze. The season also introduced some new robots, such as Black Dragon, Bloodsport, Deep Six, Hydra, Quantum, Railgun Max, and Valkyrie.

The season followed a similar format to the previous season, with each episode featuring four or five fights between two robots. The fights were scored by the judges based on damage, aggression, and control. The winner of each fight earned one point and moved up in the rankings. After 14 episodes of qualifying rounds, the top 16 robots were selected for the playoffs. The playoffs were a single-elimination bracket where the robots fought until only one remained. The winner of the final fight was crowned as the BattleBots World Champion and received a trophy and a cash prize.

The season finale aired on September 27, 2019 and featured the final four fights of the playoffs. The final four robots were Bite Force, DeathRoll, Tombstone, and Witch Doctor. Bite Force defeated DeathRoll by knockout in the first semifinal, while Witch Doctor defeated Tombstone by knockout in the second semifinal. The final fight was between Bite Force and Witch Doctor, which ended with Bite Force winning by knockout and becoming the BattleBots World Champion for the third time.
